celebrations taking place around the Roosevelt Island area. Bastille Day, also
known as French National Day, is a holiday to celebrate the beginning of the
French Revolution and the Storming of Bastille. This Sunday, July 14th,
join in the fun with events taking place near The Octagon.
Bastille Day on 60th Street– This Sunday, July 14th from 12pm-5pm take part in NYC’S annual Bastille Day celebration. For over 20 years, Bastille Day on 60th Street has been New York’s largest public celebration of France’s Independence Day. Stop by to enjoy French cuisine, music, dance and a variety of attractions and goods. The event will take place on 60th street between Lexington and 5th Avenue.
Summer en Provence Tasting – Taking place during the Bastille Day festivities n 60th, the French Insitute Alliance Francaise is hosting a “Summer en Provence” tasting of a number of French wines, spirits, and cheese. Enjoy samplings of Château Miraval, Côtes de Provence Rosé, Château de la Clapière, Cru Classé, spirits from Pernod Ricard and cheese, from Président.
French Restaurant Week NYC– Bastille Day celebrations wouldn’t be complete without French cuisine!
