Park, located at 900 Main St, New York which is a 10 minute walk from
your Octagon apartment, is a waterfront park with city views centered around a
50-foot-tall stone lighthouse built in 1872.
When you visit this park, you’re also visiting a piece of
history – the lighthouse at Lighthouse Park was designed by the same architect
who designed the Smithsonian Institute. It’s a perfect fishing and barbecue
destination, making for a relaxing spot right around the corner from your
Park, located at Vernon Blvd, Astoria which is a six minute drive from
your Octagon apartment, is a public park featuring a scenic, riverside
promenade, plus baseball fields and dog-friendly areas.
The riverside promenade and baseball fields makes Rainey
Park a popular spot for picnicking and play, and also a large one – it’s one of
the biggest parks in the system. Oaks, London Planes, and Callery Pear trees
shade adorn this public greensward that one former Parks commissioner called
“one of the prettiest parks in the system.”
