These Indoor Attractions Will Keep You Busy All January

January 16, 2020

Your Octagon apartment may be beautiful, but we get it – you can’t stay holed up forever just because it’s chilly outside! However, here in the New York area, we have lots of activities to do no matter what the weather is.

If you’re ready to get off the couch and get your 2020 going in full force, check out these indoor attractions in New York. They’ll keep you busy all winter long and you won’t be missing the warm weather a bit!

Gracie Mansion Conservancy, located at E 88th St &, East End Ave, New York which is 16 minutes from your Octagon apartment, is one of the oldest surviving wood structures in Manhattan and home to the sitting mayors of New York City and their families since 1942, when the LaGuardia’s arrived as the first official residents.

The beautiful property is open year-round for tours and makes for a great destination you can check out without spending too much time in the cold. Plus, they also have rotating exhibits, so there’s always something new to see here.

Mount Vernon Hotel Museum & Garden, located at 421 E 61st St, New York which is 12 minutes from your Octagon apartment, is a historic stone former carriage house and hotel offering a look at 19th-century New York life.

Constructed in 1799 as a carriage house for a 23-acre estate and converted into the Mount Vernon Hotel in 1826, this stone building sits on land originally owned by Colonel William Stephens Smith and his wife Abigail Adams Smith, daughter of John Adams.
